A loss is a winning

Last night was the big night, the most important match of the season for both teams. pelusitaFC popped onto the arena with 9 victories under its belt against a strong challenger with a samurai look on its face.

Good weather conditions sure put some pressure onto the Powerful samurais, which were less than few, but enough for pelusita's strikers to break the defence with titanic strides.

First half met both teams in an incredible show of raw talent and pure determination. While overscored, the Samurais never backed down against the monstrous defence line pelusita displayed, only matched by its fearsome counterattacks.

Our newly added keeper, Giuseppe Chirio, the Italian Falcon, made spectacular saves throughout the match, while the hot-spurred midfielder, Agustín Aroztegui, didn't fullfill the expectations the trainer had.

Samurais couldn't keep up with pelusita, with an overall sloppy performance but still managed to keep it together throughout the game, without giving away more than 57% ball possession.

The team had a long talk after the game, where our values as a team, but more importantly, as a human group, were deeply delved and positive attitude enlightened the team spirit once again. With only 4 matches ahead, fans hope for the best and the players show themselves very confident in remaining as runner-ups in the league.

Next week the Samurais will face Los KA, one of the newcomers in Hattrick, who even with rough training and trainees are accomplishing a solid third place in the series.

We'd like to give shoutouts to GLM, who were unfortunately defeated 2-1 last sunday. Keep up the good work!

  1. Each series has its own challenge, and certainly it will take more than one match to overcome the history pelusitaFC achieve on a humble VI.536 league.

Ball posession improved slightly compared to previous matches, and WS was able to retain the ball a bit more on the 2nd half. Unfortunately, pelusita's MF had proved themselves worthy and prevented the young Samurais from making dangerous chances. Aroztegui was the weak link on Samurai's MF, showing a poor performance, most likely due to his lack of form (his previous appearance was on 07-01-2010 on a friendly match, remaining in the field for only 19'), and not having this man at 100% paid its toll.
Overall: WS' performance improved, however not enough to beat pelusitaFC. There's still work to do with the players in terms of positioning, formation and tactics. A lack of form on key players prevented WS from creating better chances, and scoring the few ones they had.

With 4 matches 'til the end of the season, I don't think any team will be able to move WS as runner-ups. Challenge against pelusitaFC will be pending until next season, and it's up to WS to defeat this long time rivals and confirm the place the team deserves.

Friendly matches would probably help to test players on different positions, and to improve form a little bit.

As always, WS will find support and advice within GLM.

  2. The Samurais greet the Golden Masks anytime, anywhere. We'll definitely ask for advice in times to come, though each time in a lesser way than the previous one.

With 4 rounds to go, WS are ready to fight tooth and nail to remain as indisputed runner-ups and aiming to pelusita's throat next season.

His days as top-tier team are finite.
